Emotions are triggered in response to thoughts and or sensory experience. Negative emotions can be overpowering, depleting our energy, diminishing our productivity and distorting our perception of life. Learning to disidentify from these emotions, understanding that they are not who we are at our core, is the first step to freeing us from their oppressiveness. Then we can utilize this freed energy for other purposes.
